Spread the awareness of mental health and discrimination in Brunswick and New Hanover Counties by working to eliminate the stigma associated with mental help and educating the public on unconscious bias and how it affects the community and future generations.

Our Mission

Goals

  • Raise Funds to provide financial assistance for qualified individuals unable to afford mental help services.
  • Provide group sessions in a comfortable environment such as SLAA, peer groups, victims of bullying, minority support groups, etc.
  • Conduct educational seminars in our community including schools and law enforcement.
  • Host events promoting community togetherness.

Common factors affecting mental health (not all-inclusive):

  • Childhood abuse, trauma or neglect
  • Social isolation or loneliness
  • Discrimination and Racism
  • Social disadvantage such as poverty and excessive debt
  • Grief of losing someone close to you
  • Severe or long-term stress
  • Long-term or chronic health condition
  • Unemployment
  • Homelessness or poor housing
  • Being someone's primary caregiver
  • Drug/alcohol abuse
  • Domestic violence - mental, emotional or physical
  • Significant trauma as an adult - military combat or serious life-threatening incident
  • Physical injuries or diagnoses (head injury, etc.)
